The owners of a lovely country cottage with a hillside garden, found themselves needing to create additional flat and even space for grandchildren to play in, wanted a new seating area to enjoy their hillside views and had to rethink their relatively steep garden's design to accommodate for aging knees and hips, as they wanted to enjoy their home well into their dotage.
We created a series of gentler circular slopes and lawns, connected by small, manageable sets of steps and repurposed a now disused tennis court to create a hillside seating area, fire pit and large play lawn—which capitalised on the breath-taking views.
The owners can now comfortably enjoy their garden, cater for family visits and access areas for maintenance with ease.
