The Wetlands centre had relocated its memorial garden and wanted to have a new design created for the old plot.
The brief also included the build of a new hide for the bird watching visitors and was open to suggestions on how the sites most common asset, water, could be used.
We created a design that with a dramatic entrance bridge, that ran through a sculptural installation of a murmuration. The view from the bridge took visitors eyelines through the doorway of the new hide and on into the wetlands beyond, via a beautiful reflective, rectangular pond.
This is complemented by murmuration based planting on the terrace area in front of the hide and mini piers that visitors can use to walk out onto the shallow water surrounding the site.
